TEAMS

  • Teams may have a MIN of 12 and a MAX of 20 players on their roster.
  • Teams may have 1-4 adult coaches.

AGE CUTOFF

  • Athletes will play in the Age Group based on the age they are as of August 1st of the current year. (Spring and Summer Seasons Only).
  • Due to various All-Star and other post Tackle Season play continuing through February (Winter Season), the age cut-off for athletes participating in our Winter Season (January - February) will be August 1st of the previous year. This allows Coaches who have athletes who will be competing with their current Age Group through February, the oppurtunity to utilize our 7v7 League to keep their teams together until the Spring Season.
  • Teams interested in getting a jump on the Fall Tackle Season may elect to build their teams using the Spring/ Summer Season age cut-off.

TIME

  • All games will be (2) 20 minute Halves with a running clock.
  • There will be a 25-second play clock in effect.
  • In case of injury the clock will stop at the discretion of the Referee, if that occurs the player must leave for at least one play.

FIELD

  • The playing field will be 45 yards in length, plus a 10 yard end zone.
  • 45,30 & 15 are the first down lines

BALL SIZES

  • 8U-10U: K2
  • 12U: TDJ
  • 14U: TDY
  • HS: Standard High School Size
  • ADULT: NFL

STARTING THE GAME

  • A central time keeper will be designated. All games will begin and end at this persons instructions.
  • Central time keeper will announce the reamining time at the 10, 5, and 2 minute mark.
  • All possessions start at the 45-yard line.
  • No matter where the defense stops the offense, they take over at the 45-yard line.
  • Visitors will have the first possession. Home team will have possession of the 2nd half.

PLAY

  • Each team will have 7 players on the field at all times.
  • There will be a Center. Center is not eligible. Center will be responsible for spotting the ball.
  • Play begins when: The ball is snapped.
  • Play ends with one hand touch below the neck.
  • The game cannot end on a defensive penalty, unless the offense declines it.
  • The offense must gain at least 15 yards in the first 3 or less plays or the defense takes over on downs.Four down territory occurs only after the offense picks up the first first down.
  • Regular substitution rules apply.
  • No running plays allowed.
  • All plays must be forward passes.
  • Everyone is eligible to receive passes except the Center.
  • Passing: The Quarterback has 4 seconds to release the ball or it is blown dead, returning to the line of scrimmage for the next down. There is no rushing the Quarterback or crossing the line of scrimmage, until after pass is thrown.
  • Double Pass: Double passing is allowed, but there must be one forward pass across the line of scrimmage within 4 seconds.
  • Downs: Offense has 3 plays to make the initial first down.

SCORING

  • Touchdown: 6 points
  • 1 extra point by passing from the 10 yard line
  • 2 extra points by passing from the 15 yard line
  • Interception: 3 points, plus possession at the 45-yard line
  • Interception returned for Touchdown: 6 points
  • No fumbles, the ball is dead if it touches the ground

PENALTIES

  • This is a non-contact game and any flagrant contact is cause for immediate ejection.
  • Responsibility to avoid contact is with the Defense. There will be no chucking, deliberate bumping, or grabbing.
  • As always any unsportsmanlike conduct is also cause for ejection.
  • The Referee's decision is final on all plays, there will be no tolerance for arguing, and only a coach may ask for a rule clarification.
  • Coaches control profanity. Coaches are expected to eliminate profanity on their team.
  • No penalty assessed in excess of the 45 yard line.
  • BLOOD RULE: If and when an official observes that a player is bleeding, has an open wound, or has an excessive amount of blood on his or her uniform, the player will be directed to leave the game. The injured player is not to return until the bleeding has stopped, the open wound is covered, and excessively bloody uniform is changed.

OFFENSIVE PENALTIES

  • Blocking or Holding: 5 yards from line of scrimmage, loss of down, ejection for contact violation.
  • Illegal Motion: 5 yards.
  • Offensive Pass Interference: 15 yards from line of scrimmage and loss of down.
  • Delay of Game: clock stops, 5 yards from line of scrimmage and loss of down.

DEFENSIVE PENALTIES :

  • Tackling or Holding: 5 yards from line of scrimmage, loss of down, ejection for contact violation.
  • Defensive pass interference is a spot foul (first down at the spot).
  • Offsides: 5 yards from line of scrimmage, loss of down Pass Interference: 10 yards from line of scrimmage, loss of down
  • Illegal Rushing: 10 yards from line of scrimmage, loss of down
  • Delay of Game: Clock stops, 10 yards from line of scrimmage

OVERTIME

  • A tiebreaker will occur, with a flip of a coin to determine possession.
  • After a 2-minute break, the teams will each have 4 plays to score from the 20-yard line, until the tie is broken.
  • There is no defensive scoring in overtime.
